Kate Davis Caldwell was born in 1976 in Lebanon, New Jersey, USA. She earned a BA in Studio Art from the University of Vermont in 1998. She has actively exhibited since 1997 in both solo and group shows. Recent solo exhibitions include Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 2008; Abington Art Center, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, 2007; and Doll‐Anstadt Gallery, Burlington, Vermont, 2005. Group shows include the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Wilmington, Delaware, 2008; William Patterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, 2008; Prince Street Gallery, New York City, 2008; and Tierney Communications, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 2007. Her work explores the tensions of premonition, prelude and aftermath that are inherent in the natural landscape. She is inspired by the nuances of black and white photography and the shared tonalities expressed in charcoal. Since 2000 she has been represented by Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
